IN THE FACE OF WAR

We've had the most amazing opportunities over the last decade. Through playing music together, we have shared so much between each other, and shared so much between other people that we would have never met unless it was for music. We've traveled the country and met so many unique and inspiring individuals, people that we are very fortunate to call our friends. As we have lived through the vast nebulous of possibilities that life offers, we have been able to do so much that we never dreamt of, and we have you to thank for so much of that. Our lives have gone through many phases, and through constant building and rebuilding we are presented with opportunities that we previously haven't had the chance to experience. And in that light, we have decided to stop playing music as In the Face of War. We are ending on a high note: there is no dislike between members and no secret underlying tension that is pulling us apart, we are simply going to explore other areas of life.

I'm extremely happy that I got to spend the last ten years of my life doing what I loved with the people I love. And that's the real challenge and secret to life, doing what to love with who you love. We have always been a band that uses the word 'we.' All of us are very different people, but there are a few things that we agree on and that we feel like other people can identify with. For all of the people who have not had it easy, not had all the answers given to them, not had all their dreams come true, and not had much of a support system from family or community: this is our community. The things we all feel are what has brought us here and what has made us all friends. So this is for us, all of us, for all of you who have ever anything to do with us that would make you say we.

It would be foolish of us to think that we could somehow list all of the people that we are grateful to. We would remember some, forget many, and not even think about countless more. And perhaps this thank you should really go out to the people that we are ungrateful for, the people that we never realized helped us out along the way, never made a fuss about doing something for us, and never expected anything in return. Thank you to our friends and family who have helped us when we weren't paying attention, to everyone who has stood up for us when we weren't around, and to everyone who has never been thanked in a band's album.

Our last show exceeded all of our expectations. Thank you to everyone who helped make it one of the greatest nights any of us have ever had.

Thank you everyone for everything, this has been the best 10 years that any of us could have hoped for.

As always, be excellent to each other and party on dudes!

P.S. - For those who weren't able to attend the last show, or those who would like to relive that night, we will put the HD video of the show online as soon as it gets edited and ready. For now you can lurk on Youtube to find some raw videos from the show.

You may have heard that we released a new album the night of our last show: We Weren't Meant To Fly. It has three new tracks and re-recorded versions of some songs just for fun. If you haven't picked it up yet, you can purchase a physical copy from us on the merch page for $6 shipped ($9 international). You can also stream the album or purchase a digital download at our Bandcamp page.

You can clean out the final stock of our CDs and posters here while they last.
