This version will include bonus tracks: a rerecording of "If You Knew My Friends" from our init records release "Live Forever or Die Trying" as well as a totally brand new song "Untitled." There really is not easy way to put this, so I will just let Eric's eloquence speak it:
"in the face of war was started many years ago. its hard to believe its been as long as it has been. through the years, we all made countless sacrifices to live a dream that only a hardcore kid could dream. we saw more of the country and made more new friends than most do in a lifetime. there comes a time, however, when 'we' becomes 'i'.
for me, 'we' became 'i'. for the past few months, my mind has drifted from in the face of war. when i started this band, i always promised myself and others that i wouldn't drown in it. i promised i would eventually go back to school, finish my education, and not limit my life to a singular experience. some need to do this before others. i need to do this now.
so, to be more blunt, i am leaving in the face of war. i am not done with music, hardcore, or my dudes. but, i need to consider following up on other goals and dreams. i am going to spend the majority of this year saving money, getting my finanaces in good order, and looking towards returning to school. in all of that, i will take some time and play some guitar without an agenda in mind. if by some chance something new comes out of me, you may see a new band emerge. however, as far as i can see right now, the crux of my focus must remain fixed on other goals.
if you have any questions or comments, i am a pretty transparent person. feel free to comment or just ask. i love you all. please keep your eye open for the new itfow material. i've heard a lot of it first hand it will trump everything we ever did.
Eric"
We've spent many years together as best friends in this band and there will be many more outside of this band. We wish Eric the best in his endeavors and hope that he succeeds in whatever else he puts his hands to.
With that being said, we will be continuing to do shows, write music, and tour. We have not made any permanent decisions as far as line up goes, but we do have friends that are going to be helping us out in the meantime while we make our decisions.

As many of you may know, and many of you may not know....we recently parted ways with our bass player, Bryan. For the last month, our good friend Kyle Kaymmeyer has been filling in for us, and has helped us out greatly. If you know him, thank him! We have made a small shift in our line up, moving Nate over to bass. We will be moving forward as a five piece (sorry, now more three guitars!) We are very excited about this and we hope to see you all very soon, as we plan to tour more the second half of this year.
If you haven't had the chance to pick up our new album, We Make Our Own Luck, you can get it along with other merch at our online store. We will be getting new merch soon, so check back often for that.
We will be heading out east in July, we haven't confirmed with who yet, but if all else fails, we will head out again solo. Please look for those tour dates, and if you want to see us in your area, please get ahold of me!

Ok, we're getting snowed on in Indiana, and apparently the city shuts down under 12ish inches and 20+ mile hour winds. (Sorry to all you northerners where a foot of snow doesnt affect you, i'm not trying to sound like complaining, because i know you deal with it all the time.)
So, in my time here, being quasi-shut in, i think i'll update you guys on what is going on around here. We are still alive! I know, we took a lot of time off in 2006, but we are ready to make it happen in 2007, now that our album is in full effect!
We have a few awesome Indiana shows coming at, that if you live around here, you shouldnt miss. Look to the right to see if we're near you, then go to the SHOWS page for the full details.
ALSO! We are going out on the road again! It's very very brief, but it's more than nothing. I promise we will do more touring this year, and hit up some of our favorite areas that we've been missing out on in the last year. And expect to see us in new places this year, as we are planning on touring to some places we've never been. (Also, if you want to book a show for us in the TBA future, send me your contact.)

Hoodies are now added to the STORE, and we are now sold out of our first album.
If you haven't heard the new cd yet, go to the MUSIC page and check out some songs. If you like what you hear, pick up a copy and let your friends listen.

Welcome to the new in the face of war dot com.
Our new album, "We Make Our Own Luck" was released today on Detournement Records! We have been waiting for this day for a long time, and we couldn't be more excited about this album. I know every band always says this about every new album, but this really is what we consider our best work to date, and we hope you all feel the same way and can love those songs as much as we do.
If you haven't heard any of the new songs yet, go to our myspace page and check it out. If you like what you hear, you can buy the new album right from this site -- along with shirts, buttons, hoodies, older albums, etc -- all on the Merch page.
The release of this album also coincides with the start of our first tour since the spring. We're all very antsy and ready to be on the road again... go to the Shows page to see if we're coming anywhere near you.
That's it for now. There's a ton of stuff on this site, so look around. And expect to see this site updated more often than the last one.
